You will visit Rwanda’s three iconic national parks: Volcanoes National Park, home to the endangered mountain gorillas; Nyungwe National Park, renowned for chimpanzee tracking and ancient rainforest biodiversity; and Akagera National Park, Rwanda’s only savannah park, famous for classic game viewing. This journey delivers a complete and unforgettable Rwanda safari experience.

Day 1: Pick Up, Kigali City Tour and Transfer to the Hotel

Depending on your landing time at the Airport, our English/French speaking staff/Driver guide will come to pick you up from the airport. They will drive you on the Kigali City tour where you will get a chance to explore and visit different sites of the city such as the Kigali genocide Memorial, the biggest local market in Kigali called Kimironko, Nyamirambo where Kigali as a capital started, and many more interesting sites for travelers. After that, the Lion Safaris driver-guide will choose the best restaurant in the city to have lunch. After enjoying lunch, you'll be driven to your booked hotel and check in for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Transfer to Nyungwe National Park

After breakfast at your hotel in Kigali, you will be picked up by your professional Africa Bestmore Expeditions guide and begin your scenic drive toward Nyungwe National Park, located in southwest Rwanda. En route, you will stop to visit the Royal Palace Museum in the Southern Province, where you’ll gain insight into Rwanda’s traditional way of life and the history of its ancient monarchy. Lunch will be enjoyed along the way before continuing the journey through Rwanda’s beautiful countryside. Upon arrival at Nyungwe National Park, you will check in at your lodge, relax in the tranquil forest setting, and enjoy dinner followed by an overnight stay.

Day 3: Chimpanzees Trekking and Canopy Walk

After an early breakfast, you will go for a chimpanzee trekking. Nyungwe is a vast, mountain rain tropical forest over 1000 sq km in size. It is home to 13 species of primates, over 275 species of birds, and 100 varieties of orchids. After trekking, your driver-guide will bring you back to the lodge for lunch. Afterward, you'll enjoy a drive to the canopy walk away which is the highest bridge from the park on which tourists walk and enjoy the whole view of the park. Later, you'll be driven back to your booked lodge for dinner, and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

In the morning, after your breakfast, you will check out then our driver-guide will come to pick you up and drive you to the northwest of Rwanda where the park is located. You will be enjoying the beautiful rolling hills of Volcanoes National Park. On arrival at the park, you will check in your booked lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park

You will wake up in the morning get your early breakfast and head to the park headquarters to be briefed about how to behave while you are visiting then proceed to track the gorillas. After the remarkable adventure with the gorillas, you will have lunch and later visit the twin lakes Bulera and Ruhondo. Later, the driver-guide will bring you back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 6: Transfer to Akagera National Park

Early morning, you will wake up and then get your breakfast, at 8:00 am. The driver-guide will come to pick you up and drive you to Akagera National Park. On arrival at the lodge, you will check in and have lunch. In the afternoon, you will enjoy a boat trip at Lake Ihema to see water birds, crocodiles, and hippos. Then, you will be dropped back to your booked lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 7: Full-Day Game Drive in Akagera National Park

You will wake up, have your breakfast from your lodge, and the driver guide will come to take you for a full-day game drive. In the evening, you will come back to the lodge then you get ready night game drive where you will get a chance to spot nocturnal animals such as leopards, hyenas, jackals, and many more night animals. After enjoying that night game drive, you will be driven back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 8: Transfer Back to Kigali

In the morning after breakfast, you will check out then the Lion Safaris driver-guide will come to pick you up. You will begin your journey back to Kigali. He will drop you off at your hotel/home or to the airport to catch your flight back home.
